1 Link your channel i
Go to Twitch Creator Dashboard › My Extensions › boardstate.gg to generate a pairing token. Paste the pairing token from the extension’s CONFIGURE page.

Treat it like a password: anyone with this token can send cards to your channel. If you ever lose or leak this token, just revisit the extension’s CONFIGURE page to instantly regenerate a new one!

2 Connect your video & start viewing cards! i
In OBS, click Start Virtual Camera. If you need help setting this up, check out the Advanced section at the bottom of this page for more instructions.

Refresh re-scans your camera options.
Connect starts sending your camera view to the extension and begins identifying cards for your viewers!
Disconnect releases your camera and stops the analysis. Selectable cards will clear shortly afterwards.

Advanced Setting up the OBS Virtual Camera, and testing that your video feed follows your OBS scene changes.

Set up the OBS Virtual Camera

The virtual camera is how boardstate.gg sees your table. It's a built-in feature to OBS and does not require any extra plug-ins or installs.

In OBS, build the scene you stream with, so your play area is visible in it.
In the Controls panel (bottom right), click Start Virtual Camera.
Leave the gear beside it on its default output, Program, so the virtual camera follows your scene switches instead of pinning to one scene.
Come back to this page, press Refresh, then Connect.

Do I have to use OBS Virtual Camera?

You don't have to use OBS virtual camera, however you must ensure your chosen different camera source deactivates when swapping to a different scene from your TCG playing table. Improper set-up means we may still detect cards on your table when you are intending to show viewers a different scene (such as a Just Chatting scene).

Why are my viewers seeing cards even if I changed scenes?

You may not be using OBS Virtual Camera in Program Mode.

Connect a camera, press Test, then switch scenes in OBS. If the preview follows along, then the overlay will correctly clear when you swap to a scene without cards.

Your stream i The cyan box is the area boardstate analyzes. By default it starts as full screen, but if you have banners or cameras surrounding your game video, drag in the corners to better focus boardstate.gg on the card playing field. Then press Confirm. Your box is remembered on this computer, so it is right where you left it for the next stream.

Confirm boardstate.gg is seeing your OBS Virtual Camera. This is the picture boardstate will analyze.
